Testimonials
My journey with GXO started six years ago when I was looking for a job that would allow me to support my family financially. I started as a picker and very soon came to realise that this was a company full of opportunities, which would allow me to start a career and progress. GXO has invested in my development and supported me financially in achieving qualifications such as Leadership & Management as well as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health).
I started working for GXO six years ago as a packer in the outbound department. After three years, I decided to apply for the GXO Apprenticeship in Warehouse and Storage. I loved my journey as an apprentice, I had all the support I needed, as well as the chance to learn about each department in the warehouse. At the end of my apprenticeship, I was made a permanent member of the team as HR Administrator. The experience and the development I’ve received has been fantastic. I started at GXO with a job, and I have ended with a career.
When I first started working at GXO, I thought it would be just a short-term job while I found something more suited for me. I started as a warehouse picker but now, six years on, I’ve recently been promoted to Assistant Finance Manager. It’s a challenging job and no two days are the same. I’m in charge of a team of two, ensuring smooth running of all financial, commercial and administrative requirements. I get a lot of satisfaction from knowing that I play a key part in reporting appropriate and accurate information to the site, colleagues and client.
I first came to GXO when I left university back in 2015. Initially the role was temporary, but after working for GXO, I soon realised there were opportunities for me to develop. I started as a Distribution Centre Operative in the outbound department and after a short while, I began to work with Challenge-trg Recruitment as an administrative assistant. I wanted to broaden my knowledge so in 2019, I applied for the Warehousing and Storage Apprenticeship and was successful. I now work as HR Administrator within the team. Working with GXO has enabled me to transform a job into a career.
