This is your chance to learn as much as you can about the role so you can decide whether this is the job you really want. By learning more about the day-to-day tasks you will also gain more insight into what specific skills and strengths are needed. This will give you the opportunity to address any topics that haven’t already been covered.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
Asking your interviewer for reasons why they enjoy working for the business will give you unique personalised insight. This question makes the interviewer think about why they enjoy working for the business and it’s a good opportunity for them to convince you that you should work for them. Remember, you are choosing them as much as they are choosing you.
Could you tell me what career progression is available for someone in this role?
Asking this question shows your enthusiasm for the role before even actually being offered the job. They will be looking for someone who is driven, wants to progress within the business, and be a part of their success – so show them that this is you.
Be prepared for them to follow up this question by asking you where you see yourself in your career, if they haven’t already asked you!
